The Women’s ministries have circles where you can link with other sisters to participate in a mission that is interesting and will satisfy your purpose as a Christian.
The Women’s Ministries Circles and their ministries are listed below and they are all open for you to join.
Ministries and Circles
New Members Breakfast – Members provide a delicious breakfast on a semi-annual basis for new members of New Jerusalem and introduce all facets of our church family to familiarize new members with the organizations they may want to join.
Circle of Angels – Members provide clothing to Men's shelters during the Christmas season and other times; provides financial, as well as, spiritual help to needy members, provides services and clothing to Battered Women shelters and provides support to college students.
Campus Ministry – Members send care packages to out-of-town college students who belong to NJBC.
Julia Delaney Benevolent Circle – Members provide food baskets to sick and shut-in of NJBC. also coordinates food distribution to bereaved members and their families.
New Jerusalem Boutique – Holds yearly coat and sweater distributions; delivers clothing to shelters; mission also includes quilting lessons. Finished quilts are distributed to sick and shut-in members of NJBC.
Mission on Wheels – Members provide clothing to the Victim Services. They also send Bibles and spiritual reading material to Africa; donates canned goods and non-perishable items twice a year to a soup kitchen; sponsors a child to Camp Eureka; provides gifts for the sick and shut-in for Christmas; sponsors an Angel Tree gift. Individual members donate their services to hospitals and other services.
(Trueheart Family Circle) Messengers for the Lord – Provides financial support to needy families. This circle is looking forward to outreach ministry to released prisoners (including housing); accompanies Assistant Pastor to nursing homes for devotional services; distributes Christmas gifts, Valentine gifts to residents of nursing homes.
Nurses Care Ministry – Members are RN's, LPN's and Nursing support services. Members are constantly on duty during Sunday Worship and Church celebrations; provides training for nurses. Future endeavors include providing Blood Pressure screening to NJBC members after worship services. They also host Health Fairs.
Hospitality Ministry Circle – Members greet worshipers each Sunday with smiles and bulletins; Welcomes and introduce first-time visitors to congregation on Sundays. The circle members assist at the yearly PNBC Layman's Breakfast.
Ministry Gifts Circle – Administer a Gifts Inventory Survey to all new members to allow them to discover the spiritual gifts that God has endowed them with. The inventory will help them to discover the ministries God wants them to work with in the church.
Ruth Hewlin Memorial Wellness Circle – Tries to improve their health through diet and exercise. Give workshops and lectures at other churches. Make wellness presentation at Women Ministry fellowships; Provide "Wellness Baskets" to NJBC members on the sick and shut-in list.
Bereavement Counseling Ministry – Provides emotional support to those persons who are bereaved; provides workshops and lectures on bereavement to NJBC as well as outside agencies. Yearly memorial services for departed NJBC members family members.
Ghana Educational Ministry – Provides sponsors for children at the Oshieye School in Ghana. In the past three years, tuition, fees, school uniforms for the children, instructional material and meals have been provide for 275 children. The school is building a library that will be stocked with books and computers.
Floral Ministry – Members decorate the pulpit and church during Christmas, Easter and other special occasions. They also supervise the distribution of plants and flowers to their rightful owners or to the sick and shut-ins after the Sunday Worship Celebration; They also collect the fee, purchase the flowers and decorate the church with the flowers for special holidays such as Christmas, Easter, Mother's Day and Father's Day.
Imani Praise Dance Ministry – This is an intergenerational circle that gives praise to God through liturgical dance. The dance ministry performs at special occasions several times during the year. They also present a Dance Concert that includes dance ministries from churches in New York City and Long Island.
S.E.Q.U.E.L.S. Book Readers Circle – This circle reads and discusses current books that are of interest to the members. This circle goal is to include young readers and new readers.
Uniquely Blessed Steppers Ministry – This circle gives praise and worship through Step Dance. This ministry performs at special occasions during the year. They also perform in several outside programs and competition events. |
